Craig John McHale

August 23, 1983 - December 2, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Craig John McHale, age 41, on December 2, 2024, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, after a courageous battle with cancer. Craig passed peacefully with his family by his side. He will be profoundly missed by his parents, Jane and John McHale; his younger sister, Katie; his younger brother, Jamie (Brittney); and his beloved nephews, Ian and Charlie. He will also be lovingly remembered by his aunts, uncles, and cousins in England and Scotland. Predeceased by his grandparents Elizabeth and John McHale, and Nancy and Richard Dunlop, Craig’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Whether it was organizing family outings, playing with his nephews, or offering his vast technological expertise, Craig was kind, thoughtful, and selfless. He faced his illness with bravery, never succumbing to self-pity. His resilience and positive spirit remain an inspiration to all who knew him.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lakeridge Health, St. Michael’s Hospital, and Saint Elizabeth Health for their compassionate care. While we grieve Craig’s loss, we are forever grateful for the time we had with him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (North of Hwy 2) on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Lakeridge Health Foundation, Colorectal Cancer Canada, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
