Keith John Walker McLennan
September 20, 1938 ~ December 5, 2024 (Age 86)
Keith McLennan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving wife, Phyllis, daughter Erin, and son-in-law Kevin at home. A long-time resident of Wellesley, Ontario, Keith later moved to Douglas Crossing Retirement Home in Uxbridge, Ontario.
Known for his smile and his happy-go-lucky demeanor, Keith fought a long and courageous battle with his health, but never let his infectious smile waver. His love for Phyllis spanned 52 years, and he was a fun-loving dad who always brought laughter and a little bit of mischief into every moment.
As a long-haul truck driver, Keith traveled far and wide, developing a deep love for driving. His favourite place was behind the wheel and on the open road. Later, he and Phyllis built a successful landscaping and snow plowing business together, where Keith’s strong work ethic and dedication shone brightly. Even into his 80s, Keith continued to drive a dump truck because he loved it so much.
Keith had many hobbies that brought him great joy, particularly his passion for classic cars and attending car shows with family and friends. He could often be found in a parade, top down, enjoying the ride. Keith was also a huge hockey fan, especially of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Everywhere Keith went, he was sure to know someone, or they knew him. He was always willing to lend a hand and help others. Though he will be deeply missed, Keith's legacy of kindness, laughter, and his jolly demeanor will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Keith will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Phyllis McLennan, daughter Erin Arsenault (nee McLennan), son-in-law Kevin Arsenault, son David McLennan, daughter Annette McLennan, grandson Matthew McLennan, and many close friends who were like family.
Keith requested that his life be celebrated and remembered fondly without a formal funeral service. His family appreciates the love and support from all who knew him. In honour of Keith’s spirit, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers or donations, you spread a little love and kindness in the world — and, of course, share a smile as big as Keith’s.
Keith and his family are deeply grateful for the many medical professionals who supported him throughout his journey, and to the wonderful staff and residents at Douglas Crossing, who welcomed him with warmth and care.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Low & Low Funeral Home.
