MCMANUS, Mary Vera McManus
November 3, 1936 - January 13, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Vera McManus, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Vera was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward McManus, her dear son Edward McManus and brother Leslie Paterson who remained in her thoughts and conversations daily, a testament to the profound love she carried for them throughout her life.
Vera was a devoted mother to Jacqueline (Robert) Watchorn, Paul McManus (Tracey Brink). She took immense pride in her family, and her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Tyler (Larissa) Watchorn, Tara (Brandon) Stone, Brian McManus, Andrew McManus (Lauren Redmond) and Jonathan McManus (Alyshia). Vera was also a proud great-grandmother to Kennedy, Kolson, and Liam, whose laughter and joy brought her endless happiness.
Among her many cherished relationships, Vera shared a special closeness with her niece, Deborah Amador, with whom she created lasting memories and a bond that enriched her life. She will be remembered by her Brother Jim (Nellie) Paterson
Vera had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family. Her many friends were a testament to her generous spirit and the love she shared with those around her. Whether through shared laughter, heartfelt conversations, or simply her comforting presence, Vera touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
A celebration of Vera's life will be held to honour her memory at the Newcastle Community Hall, 20 King Avenue West, Newcastle Ontario on Sunday, February 2nd from 1pm - 4pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
Mom, you will forever remain in our hearts and memories. Your love, wisdom, and spirit will continue to guide us. Rest easy.
