Kulin Mehra

October 13, 1932 - November 3, 2024

It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we share that Kulin Mehra passed away peacefully on November 3, 2024. Kulin was a beloved husband to Kanta for 65 years, a loving father to Dipa (Pawan) and Rupa (Raj), and a cherished grandfather to Mira and Niam. He was a supportive and loving big brother to Prubha (Kulbhushan) and Sushma (Jagan Nath), and a warm-hearted uncle and friend to many, who will remember his kind spirit and heart of gold.

Born in Lahore, India on October 13, 1932, Kulin’s journey took him from an educational scholarship in England to settling in Toronto, Canada in 1970. With over five decades in teaching, Kulin was known for his kindness, dedication, and advocacy for his students. Outside of work, he found joy in teaching yoga, gardening, cooking, and welcoming everyone into his home with open arms and an open heart.

Kulin’s life was filled with love for his family, friends, and all those he encountered. His integrity and adventurous spirit defined him, as did his passion for storytelling and mentorship, especially for his children and grandchildren. He was an inspiration to all, reminding us to “smile and the world will smile with you.”

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at 1:00 pm at the Ajax Crematorium & Visitation Centre - Suite A&B, located at 384 Finley Avenue, Ajax, Ontario, L1S 2E3. Cremation will follow the service at 3:00 pm. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available. Click here to view the live stream.
