Eduardo "Eddie" Rivera Mendieta passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Campbell House in Collingwood. Eddie is survived by his loving wife and best friend Gloria-Jean (née Nixey). When Eddie met Gloria-Jean, her family became his family; he loved and respected her parents, Jean and Thomas Nixey, who treated him like a son. Her sisters, Shirley Cox and Margaret (Robert) McKend, were also close to Eddie and will miss him dearly.

Eddie will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. He was a talented artist, creating treasured paintings and drawings, and also had musical talent, playing the harmonica and ukulele. Known for his great sense of humor, Eddie was always telling jokes and making people laugh. He was a hard-working, kind, and caring man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Cremation has taken place, and plans for a celebration of Eddie’s life will be announced at a later date.
