Dennis Oscar Meyer

October 5, 1952 – November 24, 2024

Dennis Oscar Meyer, age 72, of Amulree, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Rotary Hospice, Stratford, on November 24, 2024. Born in Kitchener, Dennis was the cherished son of the late Anthony and Cecilia (Kuntz) Meyer.

Beloved husband for 49 years to Dagmar (Egli), Dennis was the devoted father of Corrie Norris (Dave), Joe Meyer (Nikki), and Amanda Crawford (Scott). He was a proud and loving "Papa" to his granddaughters Isabella and Hannah Norris, Lilly and Mya Meyer, and Cruz and Vaughn Crawford.

Dennis is fondly remembered by his siblings Bill Meyer (Judy), Cecilia Benki (Fred), MaryAnn Giesen (Tony), Anita Rickert (Armand), Betty Rolt, Paul Meyer (Walli), John Meyer (Joan), Jean Kittel (Brian), and Luke Meyer. He was also a dear brother-in-law to Myrta Dietrich, Bruno Egli (Deb), and Monica Todd (Brian). Predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Hans Sr. and Agnes Egli, Dennis will also be missed by his extended family, including nieces, nephews, and many close friends.

Dennis worked as a mechanic and had a 29-year career with the City of Kitchener. His hobbies included woodworking, wine making, and restoring his cherished 1942 Chevy truck. His passion for tinkering and creating filled his garage with countless projects, and his love for life was evident in everything he did.

Family and friends are invited to visitation at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Thursday, November 28, 2024, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. and 7:00–9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford, on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations in Dennis’s memory may be made to Rotary Hospice Stratford Perth via www.wgyoungfuneralhome.com.
