It is with truly broken hearts that we announce the passing of Michael "Mike" Cutajar on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his home in Etobicoke, at the age of 94.
Beloved husband to the late Patricia Cutajar. Beloved father to Cathie Leahy (John Rua), Michael Jr. (Nicole) and Timothy (Linda Byrne).
Adored grandfather to Tanya (Daniel) Placzek, Tara (Daniel) Hall and Meaghan Cutajar. Great-grandfather to Trevon, James, Sarah, Jaelen and Daya. Son of the late Domenico and Angolina Cutajar of Zurreiq, Malta.
Predeceased by his brothers and sister, Spirodonne (Gianna), Constantino (Dorval), Maria (Zaren) Faruggia and Peter (Sylvia).
Mike is survived by his youngest sister, Anna (John) Elliot, who cared for him with devotion; and his so loved sister-in-law, Carolyn (Tom) Dart. Mike was deeply cherished by his many generations of nieces and nephews, and loved dearly by his later in life partner, Dagmar Little. Mike embodied the truest form of love and loyalty.
He faced every day with such positivity, took on any problem that came his way with sheer determination, and held an unwavering dedication to God and the Catholic church.
We believe that it was his true love of life and people that kept him so young for so long.
Michael Cutajar was the absolute best of all of us and the world is a far lesser place with him gone. He will be deeply and forever missed.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 21st from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Ridley Funeral Home, 3080 Lake Shore Blvd. W. (at Fourteenth St., between Kipling and Islington Aves.). A Funeral Mass will take place at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 782 Browns Line, Etobicoke, on Thursday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m., followed by interment at Springcreek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mike to Diabetes Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
