Marion Miller
1926 – 2025
Peacefully, after a short illness, on Friday, February 7, 2025 at the Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay, at age 99. Marion (née Robertson), beloved wife of the late Ross Miller of Sunderland.
Loving mother of Susan Miller and her partner Randy Knight of Dunsford, and Glenn Miller and his wife Maxine of Owen Sound. Cherished grandmother of Scott Miller and his wife Katrina of Brooklyn, New York. Dear sister of the late Ross Robertson and his wife Jean of Sunderland.
Marion spent 75 of her 99 years as a vibrant and dedicated member of the Sunderland community. She worked side by side with her husband Ross on the family farm while also holding a long-term position at CIBC. A lifelong athlete, Marion enjoyed a remarkable amateur baseball career that spanned four decades and was known as a fierce competitor.
She was an active and committed member of Sunderland United Church, particularly with the U.C.W., offering her helping hands to countless community events and initiatives. With Ross, she shared a love for sports—curling, lawn bowling, cycling, and golf—and cheered from the sidelines at countless baseball and hockey games.
Their adventurous spirit led them around the world, from flying to Australia and sailing above the Arctic Circle, to vanning across Canada and the U.S.A., always eager to explore and connect.
A gathering to celebrate the life of Marion Miller will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church, 10 Church Street North, Sunderland, on Friday, May 9th from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A private interment will follow at Sunderland Cemetery.
