Marlene Miller

June 25, 1951 - November 8, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marlene Miller, who left us peacefully at Oak Ridges Hospice on November 8, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Marlene was a cherished mother, sister, aunt, and friend, and her kindness and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed.

Marlene is survived by her son, Robbie Miller of Nova Scotia, and her beloved siblings: Donna (Fred) Harnden of Oshawa, Rose Shaw of Orillia, Bill (Rose) of Orillia, Jimmer (Kim) of Cedar Valley, and Kathy (Brian) Fowlow of Uxbridge. She is predeceased by her parents, Laura Steward (nee Campbell) and Morley Miller, as well as her brothers Tim and Bob, and her sister Pat. Marlene leaves behind a legacy of love for her many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

An active member of the Salvation Army Guelph Temple, Marlene dedicated herself to serving others, especially through her volunteer work with the annual Kettle Drive at Christmas. Her strong faith in Christ provided a foundation in her life, bringing comfort through her daily devotionals and the old hymns that filled her with peace in her final days.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Oak Ridges Hospice in Port Perry for their care and support in Marlene’s final days.

Marlene’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we find solace in John 14:3: "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and take you to myself, that where I am you may be also."

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army Uxbridge for their Annual Kettle Drive (PO Box 118, Salvation Army Uxbridge, L9P 1M6) or Oak Ridges Hospice. Friends are invited to send condolences or make donations by visiting www.lowandlow.ca.
