Prowse ModenaPROWSE, Modena Eunice 'Dena,' RN, NP - Passed away peacefully in Burlington on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the age of 89.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Norman (2017) after 66 years of marriage.

Dearly loved mother of Dorothy Prowse, and Joan Prowse (Chris Birkett), and also missed by Shadow.

Dena will also be missed by extended family, friends, and her many patients who she cared for as a Nurse and a Nurse Practitioner.

Dena’s nursing career spans 50 years, beginning at Aberdeen Hospital in Nova Scotia.

In Burlington, Ontario she is best remembered as a Registered Nurse and later a Registered Nurse Practitioner with Dr. Sig Nielsen who sponsored her as one of the first Nurse Practitioners in Ontario, then with Dr. Adam Grzeslo after Dr. Nielsen’s retirement.

Dena was always on the go and loved travelling especially to Maple Leaf Estates in Florida where she and Norman had a winter home, and sailing with him and her family around Lake Ontario on their sailboat “Blue Skies”.

A Funeral Service will be held at Smith’s Funeral Home, 485 Brant Street, Burlington, on Saturday, September 2nd at 1:00 p.m. Friends are welcome to gather for a visitation from 12 noon until the time of service. Reception to follow.

Cremation followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery on Tuesday, September 12th at 12 noon.
