Melodie Muir

July 3, 1972 - March 17, 2025

Melodie (Sullivan) Muir passed away peacefully on Monday, March 17, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, after a heroic and lengthy battle with ovarian cancer and leukaemia. She was surrounded by her immediate family in her final moments.

Beloved wife of Shawn and loving, extremely proud mother of her greatest treasures: Ashley, Ryan (predeceased), Michael, and Matthew. Melodie leaves behind a legacy of compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.

She was a powerful advocate within the special needs community and gave her heart to supporting others battling cancer. Melodie truly believed her life was a blessing and wished for it to be celebrated joyfully — surrounded by those she loved, sharing smiles and memories in a relaxed setting.

A Celebration of Life reception will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home, 53 Division Street, Bowmanville, ON.

In her final months, Melodie relied heavily on blood and platelet transfusions, often several times a week. In her honour, the family encourages you to consider donating blood.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to SickKids and/or Ovarian Cancer Canada.
