NESTOR, Michael Francis  -  It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Michael Francis Nestor, on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

Born in Cloonfane, Co. Galway, Ireland, on October 16, 1926, he arrived in Toronto in 1949.

He started working for the TTC almost immediately after. He spent 40 years as an employee and 37 years as a retiree. The only pay cheque he ever knew in Canada.

He was a humble man who lived a humble life. Hard work and a good meal were the currency of his life. He was thrilled to live long enough to see the next three generations of his famiy.

He was predeceased by his wife, Frances; and elder son, Tony (Kathy); and survived by sons, Michael (Janice) and John. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Sean (Jeanie) and Sarah (Michael); along with great-grandchildren, Logan, Kiera, Harper and Gordon.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 20th, from 6-8 p.m. at Jerrett's Funeral Home, 6191 Yonge St., at Madawaska. The Funeral Service will be in the same place on Friday, June 21st, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Lunch will be served immediately after. Private interment will occur subsequently.
