It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Elenor Nicholson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who peacefully passed away on March 28th, 2025, at the age of 85, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, surrounded by her loving son and daughter-in-law. Born in Guyana on August 22, 1939, Jean was a cherished member of an extended family and was loved by all who knew her. Jean leaves behind her devoted son Fred, daughter-in-law Emma, grandchildren Devon, Aidan, Zoe, and Oliver, as well as great-grandchildren Finley and Daisy. She was predeceased by her loving husband Carl.
Jean was an avid gardener during her years living on Beechwood Street in Oshawa. Her home was always welcoming, with the fridge kept full at all times for visitors. She had a passion for daily television shows like *The Young and the Restless*, *Days of our Lives*, and *Coronation Street*. A fantastic cook, she took great joy in preparing dishes from her homeland, and she stayed connected with family and friends through her iPhone, sending GIFs and emojis to emphasize her messages. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her laughter, stories, and unwavering care for those she loved.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church, 540 Cromwell Ave, Oshawa (905-728-4381), followed by a burial at Union Cemetery, 760 King St. W., Oshawa.
