Ross James Penton Nisbet
In Loving Memory
In loving memory of Ross James Penton Nisbet, who passed away at the age of 81 on Monday, December 30, 2024, surrounded by his family. Born in Toronto and raised in St. Catharines, Ross excelled in sports, playing football and basketball in high school before attending Dalhousie University in Halifax, where he met his beloved wife, Janet. Together, they shared 57 wonderful years of marriage.
Ross’s love of sports continued throughout his life as he played slow-pitch baseball, enjoyed golf, and cheered on his children in their athletic pursuits. He balanced his passion for sports with a successful career in human resources at Texaco, Imperial Oil, and later Honda, often commuting from the Durham Region to Toronto.
Ross was also a skilled handyman, often found working on home renovations or improving the family property at Sheffield Lake. He is survived by his wife Janet, children Lindsay (Adam), Carmen (Raphael), and Jamie (Heather), and cherished grandchildren Alethea, Keara, Brody, and Gabriel. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at McINTOSH-ANDERSON-KELLAM FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558). Donations in memory of Ross to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
