Geertje Aria Noordam

November 1, 1942 - February 21, 2025

Geertje "Gerie" Noordam, in her 83rd year, of Stratford, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, February 21, 2025.

Beloved Mom to Astrid van Eeden Petersman, Marleen & Greg Lougheed, Jenny & Willem van den Hoven, and Inge & Henry Koskamp.
Cherished Oma to Jonathan, Esther, Evan, Jack, Eric, Jody, Evon & Kyle, Anna & Eric, Leah, Alex, Andrew & Josie, Jacqueline & Aaron, Theo, Philip, and Darien.
Loving great-Oma to Georgia, Sophia, Henk, and Dorothy.

Fondly remembered by her siblings Jannie & Jaap Vis, Cors (2005) & Aafke Noordam, Arie Noordam & Jan Kok (1998), as well as her many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Born in Bleiswijk, the Netherlands, she immigrated to Ontario with her family in 1980.
She lived a joy-filled life that included faith, farming, friends, travel, and most of all, her family.
She deeply loved the beauty of this country and its seasons, which she expressed through her Fibre Art.

The first visitation will take place at W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
The second visitation will be held at Stratford Christian Reformed Church, 190 Athlone Crescent, Stratford, on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 9:30 am until the start of the funeral service at 10:30 am.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice may be made through the funeral home.
