BALLARD, Irvine John Ballard

Passed away on April 18, 2026. Born March 8, 1953, in Fort Frances, Ontario,

Irvine John Ballard spent most of his life in his hometown of Fort Frances, where he built a life grounded in hard work, community, and a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He worked for many years as a millwright at the Fort Frances paper mill, dedicating himself to his trade with pride and commitment.

Outside of work, Irv found his enjoyment in the simple and enduring pastimes he loved most—fishing, cruising through town with his canine companions, sociallizing at various local hubs with his crew. These pursuits brought him many cherished moments over the years. He also took great joy in keeping up with his grandchildren’s sports, hobbies, and adventures, always taking a keen interest in their lives and accomplishments.

He will be remembered by his children, Jonathon (Teri) and Rachel (Chris); his grandchildren, Kailyn (Caleb), Chase (Serie), Cale, Keigan, Taylor, Oliver and Korianna; and his great-grandchildren, Lennon and Graydon and his brother, Jim (Debbie).

He was predeceased by his parents, John and Christine.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his cousins, Twyla & Mark Howarth, Terry “Speed” & Jennifer Eide, and family friend Tyson Dennis for their care, support, and kindness.

Irv will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
