The family of James Edward “Ed” Dawson is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 86, after a lengthy battle with heart disease. James Edward Dawson was predeceased by his loving wife, Jeanne Dawson, of 63 years of marriage. Loving Dad to Nancy Guest, Susan Sutton (Paul) and Linda Dawson (Edwin). Cherished Grandpa to Christopher, Sarah (Sean), Rachel, Jacob (Emily), Julia, Spencer (Ashley), William (Grace) and Mitchel. Great-Grandpa to Charlotte and Katherine. Predeceased by his parents Russ and Agnes Dawson and his two brothers; Ray (Judy) and Roy (the late Carol). Survived by his brothers; Fred (Mary), Gord (Sharon), Bill (Dianna), Bob (the late Carolyn) and his sisters-in-law; Marcelle (the late Donald), Zella (the late Bruce) and Dorie (the late Doug). Ed will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Visitation will take place at the Mackey Funeral Home, 33 Peel Street, Lindsay on Sunday, March 22nd from 1:00pm until time of funeral service in the chapel at 2:00pm. A reception will follow. If desired, a memorial donation can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association which would be appreciated by the family.
