Maria DeCecco, in her 102nd year, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Brouillette Manor in Windsor. Beloved wife of the late Silvio (1993), she will be deeply missed by her sons Vincent (Melanie) and Dan (Arlene), and fondly remembered by her grandchildren Danny (Erin) and Amy.

Predeceased by her daughter Silvana (2014) and son-in-law Roy (2018), Maria was the cherished sister of Gisella, Guerrino, Renato, and Pietro, and is survived by sisters Caterina, Mirella, and sister-in-law Ivanda. A pillar in both Canada and Italy, she was adored by many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Born in Braulins, Italy, Maria immigrated to Canada in 1951. For over 40 years, she worked as the main cook at Tunnel Bar-B-Q, forming lifelong friendships and providing countless delicious meals. She was known for her generous spirit and devotion to family.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd.) on Monday, May 12 from 2–5pm and 7–9pm, with parish prayers at 7:30pm. Funeral Mass will take place Tuesday, May 13 at 11am at Most Precious Blood Church, followed by entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
