FISHER, Douglas William Fisher
December 4, 1951 - July 8, 2026
It is with deep heartbreak and sadness that I have to announce the passing of my wonderful and beloved husband and best friend, Doug Fisher who passed away on July 8, 2026, at the age of 74. Doug was born in Sarnia, Ontario. He worked as an Industrial Painter Local 1590. His knowledge and love of cars was known to many of his friends. He enjoyed camping and fishing and the love of music. He always made everyone he touched feel welcomed and loved. He had a wonderful sense of humor, kind heart and the quiet strength that will be missed by many.
Douglas William Fisher will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife Eva of 46 years. And his faithful companion Weezer. He has left behind his sister Margaret (Hull) Loosemore. Nephew Michael (Randi) Hull, Paul (Cheryl) Jacques. He was predeceased by his parents William Oliver Fisher and Sarah Jane (Steadman), by his sister Shirley Jaques, and nieces Sandra Cosgrove and Michelle (George) Harris and Loretta Hull. Also predeceased by his great friends which were his father-in-law and mother-in-law Jules and Joyce Desrochers. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Luke Landry and late wife Claudette (Desrochers), Claude Desrochers and his late wife Shirley (Leveques), Paul Desrochers and wife Rhonda, Mike Desrochers and wife Anne.
He is also survived by many of his wifeβs nieces and nephews. The families would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and caregivers who provided compassionate care during Dougβs illness. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice or a cancer support organization would be appreciated. Dougβs love, kindness, and gentle spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Itβs not just losing the man you lovedβ¦ Itβs losing your partner, your protector, your everyday comfort. Itβs the quiet where his voice used to be, the space beside you that feels impossibly empty, the memories that replay when you least expect them. You donβt simply βmove onβ from a loss like this You learn to carry the love, the pain and the memories one day, one breath at a time.
