Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Giroux, retired teacher with DCDSB, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, at the age of 72. Jackie was the loving mother of Joseph (Kristina), Patrick, Erin (Brandon), and Michael (Nikki). Proud Grandma of Meghan, Emmett, Paige, Zach, Katelyn, Hannah, Delilah, Jude, and Rose. Beloved wife of John. Dear sister of Joan, Joyce, June, Josephine, Janice, Joanne, and Janet. Predeceased by her parents Jean and Joseph Tobin. Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Jackie lived life to the fullest. She cherished her family and grandchildren above all else, tirelessly advocating for her son Patrick and his many opportunities. She loved traveling the world and was always ready for an adventure. Jackie was a dedicated advocate for the less fortunate in her community, volunteering at food banks and organizing breakfast and lunch programs. Her passion for teaching, especially helping students who needed extra love and care, was her calling.

Family and friends will be received at Mount Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery, 21 Garrard Road, Whitby, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Wednesday, January 15, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Whitby.

“You left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always by our side.”
