ROSS, Owen Edward Ernest Ross

A retired teacher, accomplished athlete, traveller, and devoted animal lover, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on April 16, 2026.

Owen Edward Ernest Ross was born on August 27, 1942, to Violet (nee Calder) and Archie Ross.

He spent much of his life in the classroom, starting his career in Rainy River and later moving to Robert Moore School where he inspired countless students with his patience, quick wit, and genuine care for their success.

Owen and his partner, Maureen, enjoyed their retirement in Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he could often be found out on the golf course enjoying a round in the sunshine.

Owen had a special place in his heart for animals. His compassion and kindness extended to all creatures, and he found great joy in their companionship.

He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Violet (nee Calder) Ross.

Owen will be deeply missed by his partner in life, Maureen Ross; his brother, Dale Ross (Shirley); and his nephews and nieces, Monte Ross, Greg Ross, and Sandra Ross. Danielle and Sarah O’Sullivan and Nolan and Davis Ross .

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Gustafson, the nursing staff, and the chemotherapy team at La Verendrye Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Owen. As well as Northridge funeral home.

As per Owen’s wishes there will be no service.
