SALMERS, Olga Stephanie - We are deeply saddened to share that Olga Salmers passed away peacefully of old age, at home with her two loving children by her side, on February 5, 2021.
Olga was born May 5, 1923 in Ukraine before immigrating to Canada with her family and settling in Toronto.
She attended the University of Toronto where she met her husband Zen and graduated with a Masters in Psychology.
This was an exciting, new field of study at the time and she worked in this field until her retirement.
Olga lived a long, full life. A wonderful mother to Catherine, David and his wife Mary Jane.
Proud Baba to Gabrielle (Brett), Patrick, James (Deighna), and Jeffrey (Victoria).
She was predeceased by cherished husband Zen, parents Katherine and Walter Korolewich, and sisters Mary Kulish (William) and Doreen Sands (John).
Her family has many fond memories of spending time with her at the cottage in the Kawarthas and on the shores of Singer Island in Florida.
Olga enjoyed playing golf and bridge with friends at the Oshawa Golf Club. Olga was a huge source of love and support. She will be dearly missed by her family.
In line with her wishes, a small family service was held.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
