Pamela Jeanne Olley
January 26, 1984 – October 27, 2024
Beloved mother, partner, daughter, sibling, niece, cousin, aunt, and friend, Pamela Jeanne Olley passed away peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre on October 27, 2024, at the age of 40 due to a brain aneurysm. Affectionately known as “Looch” to her family and “Jukebox” to her friends, Pamela was known for her joy, resilience, and caring heart. Her love for music spanned decades, and she brightened countless lives with her songs and compassion. At eight years old, she played Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother in a school play, a role that captured her warm and loving spirit—qualities she carried throughout her life.
Pamela will live on through her organ donations, a final act of love. She is deeply missed by her daughter, Karys Smith, her partner, Alain Bertrand, her parents, Ruth and Greg Olley, her brother and sister-in-law, Kristoffer and Colleen Olley, her cherished nieces, Elora and Jocelyn, and her extended family. She is predeceased by her grandparents, Laura and Harry Olley, Mary and Tom Spencer, and Jean and Art Machmer.
The family would like to thank Dr. RV Stas, who helped bring Pamela into the world, and the doctors and staff at Peterborough RHC, who provided her with compassionate care.
A Memorial Service will be held at Oshawa Funeral Home, 847 King Street West, Oshawa, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, with visitation from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and the service at 1:30 p.m. A celebration will follow at Oshawa Shrine Club, 1626 Simcoe St N, Oshawa. Attendees are encouraged to wear bright colours in memory of Pamela’s vibrant spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund at downiewenjack.ca/support-us in honor of Pamela’s love for Gord Downie and The Tragically Hip.
Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at Oshawa Funeral Home.
