Spence CharlesSPENCE, Charles ("Charlie") Stephen    - On May 7, 2022, Charles ("Charlie") Stephen Spence died peacefully.

He was the loving and devoted husband to the love of his life, Anne (MacVicar), deceased.

He was a loving and supportive father to Charles (Kathie), Anne (Bob), Catherine (Dan), and Don (Laura).

He was a proud and caring grandfather to Jamie (Jessica), Geoff (Angela), Katie (Ryan), Carolyn, Krista, Shannon (Dustin), Kyle, Christopher, Devin, and Kevin; and great-grandfather to Lauren, Charlie, Scott, Dawson, Jack, and Reid.

He was the surviving brother of Margaret, Eileen, Duncan (Mavis), and Elizabeth.

Charlie was born in Toronto on January 17, 1926 to Duncan and Elizabeth Spence (deceased).

As a young man, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and the Toronto Scottish Regiment during World War II.

After the war, he was admitted to the University of Toronto and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and went on to become a Chartered Accountant.

It was through his association with the band that he met his wife, Anne. They were married in 1951 and raised their family in Toronto, and for every summer, at the cottage, a place he held close to his heart right to his death. Sadly, Anne died early in 1994 but Charlie had the fortune to later meet and marry Pat O'Neill (deceased) in 1998.

During his retirement years, Charlie travelled and took up golf, and had many enjoyable trips to visit his family, his beloved cottage and the "family compound" in Florida.

He will be greatly missed by his family. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
