Howes BillHOWES, Bill   -

August 19, 1943 - March 16, 2023

Peacefully, on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the age of 79.

Beloved husband to Marilyn (née Cripps) for 54 years; loving father to Mike (Lori Morrison), Scott, Brett (Dawn) and Ryan; and caring grandfather to Dylan, Spencer, Victoria and Oscar.

He will be missed by his sister, Karen (Stacey Coray); brother, John (Vange); and cousin, Milda (Larry Misner).

Bill had a 30-year career with Eaton's as a Store Manager across the Toronto area and Central Ontario. He was kind, loyal and generous, with a quick sense of humour. He loved sports, '50s and country music, Christmas, boating on Lake Simcoe and especially, spending time with his family. He was a hockey referee in both the GTHL and OHA for many years.

In his retirement, he tried trucking and snowploughing.

He suffered for his last few years in ill health and is now at peace. He will be dearly missed. We would like to thank all the nurses, PSWs and staff at Woods Park for their excellent care of Bill. Also, thanks to Dr. McConvey and Father Don.

Cremation has taken place, and a private family funeral will occur. A graveside service in memory of Bill will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's name to Diabetes Canada or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
