On Monday, April 25, 2016, 'Gus', surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully in his 92nd year. He was born in Loughrea, County Galway, Ireland in 1924. He flew in World War II with the RAF and immigrated to Canada in 1946. As one of twelve children, he is survived by his sister Eileen Hickey. Devoted husband to Dr. Vera Solowska for 60 years. Loving father of Helen (Marc Carere), Tom (Anne) and Peg (Tom Best). He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Matthew, Emily, Andrew, Dominique, Luke, Jeff, Richard, Melanie, Amy, Colin, Jenna and his great-grandchildren Anna Bella, Sophia, Cosmo and Kiana. He was always a mentor and loving advisor to his children, their peers and his grandchildren. On May 2nd, friends may visit at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd. With family at his side, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, March 2nd, 2015, in his 43rd year.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Leanne (Gibbens), son Nicholas, daughter Katie, mother Joanne and sister Lesya (Jim Reed).
Loved son-in-law of Paul and Carol Gibbens. T.J. will be dearly missed by sisters-in-law Lesley (Mark Cassidy) and Laura (Jamie Osmond).
He will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins as well as numerous friends and business associates.
T.J. owned and operated Laskowsky & Laskowsky Law Firm for many years with father Tony (predeceased). He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Friday, March 6th from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m.

MITGES, Beverley Joseph - We are grateful for the life of Beverley Joseph Mitges.
He passed away peacefully on April 28th 2014, in his 85th year.
He was born in Guelph, Ontario on July 20, 1929 and lived most all of his life in Hamilton, Ontario.
He was husband to Rhoda Mitges and father of four children (Phillip, Cindy, Marika and David).
He spent most of his working life at Dofasco as a turn foreman, and made a huge contribution by helping match many good people to employment there.
He was a kind and gentle man, and loved to play chess, read, cook, garden, build and entertain.
Movies, crosswords and classical music were passions of his. He was a good son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend, and provider.
He was predeceased by: his father Aristides (Steve) Mitges (1897 – 1956) and mother Lucy May Mitges (nee Johnson) (1897 – 2001) and three of his seven siblings (Marika, Imelda, Loreigh).
Since his death and prior to the posting of this obituary, his son Phillip died (1951-2015), his brother Albert John died, and his loving wife Rhoda Jeannette Mitges (nee Adams) died (1930 – 2021).
Remaining to mourn his passing are his daughters Cindy (Steve) and Marika, son David (Micheal), and many grand children and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and friends.
We each have our fond memories of our time with Bev, and are thankful for the positive difference he made in our lives and in the world. Our thanks to all those that helped Bev in his life.
Cremation has taken place and ashes buried.

WILLSON, Glenn Stanley - Surrounded by loved ones passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13th, 2012 following a brief illness at Lakeridge Hospital in Oshawa.
Glenn will be remembered as an iconic business leader, community citizen, and family man.
His integrity and fairness was legendary, as was his kindness and generosity to his community.
Born in 1947, Glenn was a lifelong resident and advocate of Oshawa and its surrounding communities. Having attended O’Neil Collegiate and Ryerson University, Glenn married his high school sweetheart, soul mate and love of his life Lorrie to whom he remained married for 43 years.
As an outstanding entrepreneur and General Motors dealer, Glenn used the success of his numerous businesses to give back to his community through important philanthropic causes such as the building of the Durham Region YMCA, the Durham Region Cancer Centre, and The Oshawa Hospital Foundation on which he faithfully served as a board member.
In addition to his wife Lorrie, Glenn is survived by his mother Elaine, his siblings Nancy, Carol, Douglas, Donald and Stephen, his children Gregory, Elizabeth and her husband Paul, Katherine and her husband Jason, Anthony and his wife Allison and his beloved grandchildren Elliott, Charles, Adrienne, Gannon, Locklyn, Xavier, and Suzanna.

LASKOWSKY, Tony - (Barrister and Solicitor) It is with shock and sadness that we announce the passing of Tony Laskowsky on Sunday, April 12th, 2009 at the age of 72.
Tony was born in Montreal and moved to Oshawa as a child where he attended South Simcoe Public School and then Central Collegiate.
He completed an undergraduate degree in Economics and received a Law Degree (BCL) from the University of New Brunswick.
It was during this time that he received a prestigious scholarship that allowed him to study at several prominent Law schools throughout Europe.
In 1964, he married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life, Joanne, to whom he remained happily married until his passing. He began his law practice in Oshawa in 1964, where he continued to practice until the end.
Tony chose to use his incredible personality, intelligence, and considerable skill as a lawyer to help those around him. Tony loved Oshawa, the Ukrainian Community and his many friends and clients, but especially his family.
There are many people who will miss Tony, but none more than his family.
Tony is survived by his wife, Joanne, his daughter Lesya and husband Jimmy, his son T.J. wife Leanne and their children, Nicholas and Katie. He is also survived by his brother, Mike, brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Marty, and his nieces and nephews.
