VASILOPOULOS, Jim -   Passed away peacefully at the age of 90 at the Hellenic Home for the Aged on Saturday, October 3, 2015.

Predeceased by wife Rita in 2003. Dear father of George (Dina) and Christine (Chris).

Proud Pappou of Rita (the late Bill), Jim (Vasoula), Elias and Jim (Stella).

Beloved great- grandfather of nine.

Will be sadly missed by his sister and many nieces and nephews in Canada, Greece and the United States.

Family and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Centre, 50 Overlea Blvd., on Tuesday, October 6th from 5-9 p.m.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 10 a.m. at ST. DEMETRIOS GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 30 Thorncliffe Park Dr. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hellenic Home for the Aged.

DONALD, Lily (nee LOFTUS) -   Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Providence Healthcare at the age of 76.

Beloved wife of the late Fred.

Loving mother of Mark (Gloria) and the late Ellen.

Cherished grandmother of Jamie (Rina), Daniel (Jen) and great- grandmother of Mikala, Austin and Jana.

Lily is survived by mom Nellie and sister Carol (Roy).

She will be sadly missed by nieces: Carol-Ann, Rhonda, Andrea and Lily's best friend Helen.

Special thanks to all Lily's caregivers at Providence for their compassionate care.

ANDREWS, Alberta Winnifred

Passed away peacefully, at the Trillium Health Centre, on October 3, 2015 in her 100th year.

Predeceased by her husband of 48 years Lorne, son Brad, daughter-in-law Lynda, granddaughter Brenda Ann Goddard, brother Gordon Harrison, sisters Elfrieda and Doris. Alberta will be remembered by her daughter Judy Goddard (Bob), granddaughters Karen Goddard (John Murray), Erica Lawrence (Scott), Dana Clark (Glenn) and great-grandchildren Nathan, Sara, Addison, Cameron, Morgan, Brooke, Abby and Brady, sister Audrey Sproule, many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Turner & Porter "Peel" Chapel, 2180 Hurontario St.., on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 2 p.m. followed by a service in the Chapel at 3 p.m.

If desired, remembrances may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Hospital for Sick Children would be gratefully appreciated.

Morgan AudreyMORGAN, Audrey - Passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s Residence, Hamilton, on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the age of 77.

Loving wife to Thomas Morgan for 56 years. Devoted mother to Deborah Morgan, and Stephen Morgan.

Dear grandmother to Kevin Morgan (Amber), and great-grandmother to Rianna and Kaie, and Kalen.

Fondly remembered by her sisters Irene and Mildred. Audrey will also be missed by close family friend Violet Davis and family, as well as many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Smith's funeral home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, ONtario (one stoplight north of the QEW) on Friday, October 9th from 5:00pm until 8:00pm, where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 10:30am.

WAKAYAMA, Ethel Midori (nee YAMAMOTO)  -  Ethel passed away peacefully at Castleview Wychwood Long Term Care on Friday, October 2, 2015 at the age of 82.

She was born in Vancouver on March 27, 1933 to the late Teizo and Tsune Yamamoto.

She is survived by her husband Peter whom she married in 1966, her sons, Alan and Paul, her sisters Florence (late Ko) and Eileen (Bill), her brother Fred (Peter) and her many nephews and nieces.

She grew up in Vancouver until the war started with Japan.

She and her family were part of the removal of the Japanese from the west coast of British Columbia to Lemon Creek in the interior of British Columbia. After the war, the family moved to Chatham, Ontario.

Ethel will be fondly remembered as a quiet, gentle, caring lady and will be greatly missed by her family, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers and koden, please donate if you wish to the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, Momiji Health Care Society or any organization of your choice.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Visitation Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd.,(use east gate entrance) and the Memorial Service will be on Friday, October 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at the Mt. Pleasant Visitation Centre.

Daniels GaryDANIELS, Gary -   After a long battle, Gary succumbed to his illness, on Saturday, October 3, 2015, in his 63rd year.

Cherished husband of Beverley Daniels for 42 years.

The best father to Chris and Andrew. Treasured brother of Wayne (Heather) Daniels, Marilyn (William ) Bowers and brother-in-law George (Sandra) Crump. Loving uncle of Jeff (Jennifer), Julie (Dave), Devon (Robert), Erin (Robert), Sean and Ashley.

Predeceased by parents Charlie and Maude. Gary will be missed by extended family and friends.

In Gary’s spare time he enjoyed listening to music, watching hockey and baseball, washing and waxing his cars, working on his home and mostly spending time with his family whom he loved dearly and he will be deeply missed forever.

Salari NoreenSALARI, Noreen Marion (nee Purvis), R.N. - Passed away peacefully at home, in Burlington, on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the age of 87. 

Predeceased by her husband Peter (2008) and her parents, Bill and Betty Purvis. 

Loving Mum to  Susan Olynyk (Peter), David (Elsa) and Lynda.  Proud Nana of Geoff Olynyk (Jackie), Steve Olynyk (Judy), Nicholas Salari and Mickey Goldberg; Great Nana to Grace Elizabeth Olynyk.

Sister-in-law to Helen Salari.  Predeceased by brother-in-law Terry Salari and sister and brother-in-law Anne and Bill Conry. Noreen will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. 

Noreen graduated from the Hamilton General Hospital School of Nursing, Class 1950-A. She was a proud IODE member for more than 70 years, past President of IODE Ontario, and past President of IODE Canada.  She was also a Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal recipient.

We are especially thankful to Lynda for her unwavering and devoted care of our mother and grandmother for the past many months and years.

To honour Noreen’s wishes, cremation and a private family service will take place. Arrangements entrusted with Smith's funeral home, 1167 Guelph Line, Burlington, Ontario.

Beloved husband of 59 years of the late Murielle Leacock (nee Thomas), Dearest father of Don, Ray, Gilbert (Ana) and Nicole (Randy), cherished grandpa of Christopher, Robin, Devyn, Kendra, Adam, Miranda, Julie, Jesse, Nick, Melina and Chelsey, Proud great-grandfather of Anna, Alex, Dylan, Hailey, Rylee, Josh, Avery, Austin.

Brother of Norman (late Marian) Leacock, Grace (late Cecil) Sammon, the late Henry (Vern) Leacock and the late Leo Leacock.

Brother-in-law of Aurèle (late Audrey) Thomas, Paul (Madeleine) Thomas, Willy (Sue) Thomas, Gerry (Bev) Thomas, the late Blanche (late Jean-Louis) Guy, late Freda Lapierre, late Solomon (Aline) Thomas, late Fred Thomas and late Edmond.

The Mass of Christian’s Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday October 6th, 2015 at 11 am at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, followed by the burial at the Abitibi Cemetery, reception to follow in the parish Hall.

TAFFS, Michele -   It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic death of Michele as a result of a car accident on October 3, 2015.

Beloved daughter of Lynne, Philip and step-father Bill, loved sister of Nicole (and family Matthew, Lucas and Maya) and step-sisters Danielle (Andrew), Nicole (Joseph) and Elyse (Reuben), cherished by Grandma Taffs and Nonna Di Francesco.

She was loved and will be greatly missed by her friends, especially Pedro and Naomi, and extended family - aunts and uncles (especially Jeanne and Phil and Brad and Bev), nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada, England and Ireland, and her work colleagues. Michele also leaves behind her beloved animals who were the centre of her daily life and love.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the Erskine Presbyterian Church, 19 Pearl Street North, Hamilton L8R 2Y6. Reception to follow in the church hall.
