TIKKANEN, Paul Eino - 1931 - 2020 It is with broken hearts that Kaarina (Karin) and Leila announce the passing of their loving father, Paul Eino Tikkanen, in his 90th year, on December 20, 2020 at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket.
From his roots growing up in Beaver Lake, Paul moved to Sudbury in his late teens, where he met and married the love of his life, Vi (predeceased).
Together they raised two daughters, Karin (Pentti Joutsi) and Leila (Joe Pilon).
Paul's passion for higher learning was instrumental in his achieving an undergraduate degree in English from Laurentian University and a Masters of Education from the University of Toronto.
He touched many lives during his career in education.
But most of all, with his enduring love and devotion to his family, warmth, sensitivity, humility and infinite wisdom, he continued to support and guide not only his daughters, but also his three granddaughters Emily, Susan and Alison.
"We still had so much more to learn from you Dad... we miss you... we love you forever".
