Russell Kenneth Pearson

August 4, 1957 - December 10, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Russell Kenneth Pearson, an adored husband, father, papa, brother, and uncle, who left us on December 10, 2024, at the age of 67. Russ was surrounded by his loving family, who will hold his memory close to their hearts forever.

Russ was born on August 4, 1957, in East York, ON, and held multiple roles with the City of Toronto. A passionate motorcycle enthusiast, he spent his weekends as an instructor at a local motorcycle school, which is where he met his dedicated wife, Riina.

Russ bravely and stoically battled Multiple Sclerosis for the last 27 years and never complained about his lot in life. Instead, he always cared deeply about others and their well-being and feelings. He cherished the time spent with his family, especially the grandkids at the cottage on Kennisis Lake, relishing the stunning sunsets, sitting on the deck overlooking the lake, and the company of countless visitors. He was a skilled handyman, capable of fixing anything, and approached every project with meticulous attention to detail.

Russ was celebrated for his optimistic outlook on life, his kind and generous heart, his sharp sense of humor, and his passion for food. A fountain of knowledge with a green thumb and a deep love for music, he left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Russ will be deeply missed, cherished, and celebrated by his devoted wife of 38 years, Riina; his loving children, Jennifer and Spencer, and their spouses; his six adorable grandchildren, Charlotte, Brady, Sadie, Laine, Boyer, and Taite; his sibling, Patty and her spouse; as well as extended family of in-laws, his niece and nephew, and friends. Russ was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Hazel Pearson.

A big and heartfelt thank-you to his friends and staff of Lakeridge Gardens Long-Term Care Home who were like an extended family and a special thank-you to his buddy John with whom Russ shared an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime bond.

A celebration of Russ’ life is being planned for the end of April. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Russ' memory to fund a memorial bench at Lakeridge Gardens, in a spot where Russ loved to spend countless hours basking in the sun and enjoying the outdoors. To donate, please visit the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation and select "Russ Pearson Memorial Bench" from the funding drop-down.

Memories and notes of condolence may be shared at McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME.
