Brian Lavern Peterson

December 25, 1952 - September 26, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Lavern Peterson, who left us after a sudden illness on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. Formerly of Shelburne, Flesherton, and Dundalk, Brian passed in his 72nd year. He was the cherished partner of Jeanette Phillips and a devoted father to Grant (Valerie) of Reddickville, Ben (Astrid) of Three Hills, Alberta, Tammy, and Amy (Jon) Beech of Wasaga. Brian’s legacy lives on through his grandchildren Cody, Emma, Luke, Jackson (Sidney), Monty (Sarah), Dakota (Lexi), Shoshoni, Cyrus, Graclyn, Mikayla, Zoey, and Cooper, and his great-grandchildren Westley, Waylon, and Rhett. He is survived by his dear brother Wayne of Angus and sisters-in-law Sally and Heather. Brian was predeceased by his brothers Jerry, Delmer, and Douglas, and his sisters Marilyn Nicholson and Marie Rabson.

Born on Christmas Day, 1952, to the late Elmer and Dorothy Peterson, Brian grew up in Shelburne. Leaving school early, he followed in his brother’s footsteps to pursue a career in carpentry. With a natural talent, Brian built every family home alongside his two sons, establishing himself as a master of his trade. A lover of horses and owner of a hobby farm, Brian balanced his work with his passion for family, becoming known for his gift of conversation and vibrant personality that will be deeply missed.

Friends are invited to pay their respects at Fawcett Funeral Cremation Reception on Monday, September 30, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, followed by a service in the funeral home chapel. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
