Anna Vander Ploeg

Anna Vander Ploeg (née Miedema) passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Lee Manor in Owen Sound. Born in the Netherlands on October 12, 1929, Anna was in her 96th year.
Beloved wife of the late John Vander Ploeg. Loving mother of Florence Ingerson (late Tom), Agnes Cruz (late Beau), Stuart Vander Ploeg (Rosemary), Wesley Vander Ploeg (Glenda), the late Clifford Vander Ploeg (Marilyn), Thomas Vander Ploeg (Pat), Janice Vander Ploeg, Glenn Vander Ploeg (Rhonda), Edward Vander Ploeg (late Jennifer), Richard Vander Ploeg (Tania), and Harold Vander Ploeg (Helena). She was a proud grandmother of 30 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 31 great-grandchildren.
Anna is also survived by her dear brother Sidney Miedema (Della) and brother-in-law Bas Visser, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her grandson Curtis Vander Ploeg, her parents Walter and Frieda Miedema, and siblings Elizabeth Vander Ploeg, Carol Visser, and Joanne Miedema.
Visitation will be held at Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 6:30–9:00 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Anna’s life will take place at First Christian Reformed Church, 201 4th Ave. W., Owen Sound, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Harry Zantingh.
