Agostino Lino Puglisevich
November 13, 1933 – April 13, 2025
Agostino Lino Puglisevich was born on November 13, 1933, in the town of Msida, Malta, and passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the age of 91. Lino lived a life of hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Lino began working at the young age of sixteen following the sudden passing of his father, France Puglisevich. He worked as a driver with the Royal Navy and was attached to the Malta Drydock for over twenty years. On June 20, 1956, he married Furtunata Azzopardi, and together they were blessed with three children: Frank Puglisevich, Mario Puglisevich, and Maria Puglisevich.
In 1973, Lino and his family emigrated to Oshawa, Ontario, where he worked at Fittings Foundry before moving on to Durham Region Transit, where he retired as a driver. Lino’s love for family was immeasurable, and he cherished his time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed reading, opera music, taking and printing photographs, and waterfowl hunting.
Lino was a devoted father to Frank (Lori), Mario (Bernadette), and Maria (Sean). He was a cherished grandfather to Tom, Jackie, Zach, Anthony, Racheal, and Patrick, and a great-grandfather to Lily, Mariah, Victoria, Maddison, Scarlett, Chayce, Charlie, Treydan, Tyren, and Tayshaun.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 214 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 9:30 AM. The funeral mass will also be available via Livestream.
Lino will be laid to rest at Resurrection Cemetery in Whitby. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lino’s memory can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids Foundation).
