REID, Mary Anne (nee GALLO) Reid - With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother on June 12, 2024.
Born in Toronto, February 25, 1931 to Josephine Balutavich (Lithuania) and Raffaele Gallo (Italy).
Predeceased by her loving husband Gord in 2006. Mother to David (Tracey), Joanne (Ric) and Laurie. Grandmother to Stephanie, Vanessa, Mathew, David, and Kyra; and Gaga to Olivia and Ethan. Great-grandmother to Kian and Aiden. Sister to Alfred (Barb); and Aunt to Paula and Melissa. Beloved Aunt to Dennis and Pauline Johnson of NFLD.
Remembered by many friends and relatives in Wasaga Beach, Toronto (Laverne Coker-Ellis), Cobourg (Nola Rodgers), Florida (Joyce Clark), and Berlin (Elke Rosin). Mary lived a full life with a sense of humour unaltered by her cognitive decline.
New friends and old friends became friends for life. Mary was a proud 32-year "Bell Canada Pioneer" starting out as an operator and ascending to a management career.
She enjoyed travelling, camping, gardening and keeping up with current events reading The Star from front to back.
Mary's special place would remain Wasaga Beach until her passing in nearby Collingwood.

A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
