Shaun David Reid

With deep sorrow, we announce the tragic death of Shaun David Reid of Beaverton, Ontario. Shaun, age 56, died suddenly as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Monday, December 16, 2024. He was the much-loved husband to Shari Brooks-Reid, and together they cherished their son Jaret and his partner Devan Kavanaugh. Shaun is the treasured son of Don (Boney) and Barbara Reid and beloved brother to Shelley Harper. He was the best brother-in-law to Ed Harper, Jackie (Terry) Brooks-Gavan, Debbie Brooks, and Tammy (Todd) Bowen. He is cherished by his nieces Abby and Haley Harper and Tehya Bowen. He is sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Shaun lived his entire life in Beaverton. He was active in his community and was a prolific athlete, excelling in hockey, baseball, and golf, and was remarkable at every sport he played.
Throughout his life, Shaun always gave 100%. He was committed and loyal to his family, friends, and colleagues. He built strong, lifelong relationships with everyone he met. He worked hard, was a fierce competitor, and always had a smile to share, a contagious laugh, and a captivating story to tell. Shaun was an engaging person, a fabulous teammate, and a man who expected no more from others than what he gave himself. He will be deeply missed.
The family invites you to Shaun’s Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Pefferlaw Lions Community Hall (38 Pete’s Lane, Pefferlaw, ON).
Should you wish to make a donation in Shaun’s memory, the family asks that you contribute to the Brock Minor Hockey Association to support children who may not otherwise have the means to play.
