REMPEL, Helen - Passed away peacefully at the Grand River Hospital in Kitchener on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the age of 87.
Helen Rempel (Wiebe) the last member of her family that came to Canada in April of 1928 from Chortitza, Russia.
Helen was a much loved teacher with the Waterloo County School Board for many years at Empire, Northdale and MacGregor Public Schools.
Helen married Peter J. Rempel on June 29, 1974 and they had many very happy years together.
She is remembered by her stepson Arthur Rempel, stepdaughter Karen and her husband Robert Arthur and her sister–in–law Dorothy Wiebe. She is also survived by six nieces and nephews, Peggy Mann and her husband Fletcher of Greenville SC, Patsy Wiebe-Milburn and her husband Harry, Carson Wiebe and his wife Carol, Craig Wiebe and Sheila Wiebe all of Kitchener/Waterloo and Margot Winter and her husband Stewart of Seattle WA. She has four great-nieces and nephews, Taylor Salytchev and her husband Vassily, Matthew Milburn, Erin Gardiner and her husband Matthew Gardiner, Kaitlin Winter and Brenna Winter. She also has three great- great nephews, Alexander, Zahar and Mikhail Salytchev.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Peter, her parents Abram Jacob and Anna (Epp) Wiebe, her sisters Anne and Louise Wiebe and her brother Abram Wiebe.
The Funeral service will be held in Waterloo, on Wednesday, October 14th.
