RENDLE, Anna Ada (nee Bastin) Rendle of Oshawa - slipped quietly into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, August 17th, at the age of 92.
Anna was born on March 5th, 1932, the youngest of 3 and only daughter to James and Grace Bastin, in Galt (now Cambridge), Ontario, where she spent her childhood.
In 1953 she graduated from London Bible Institute (now Tyndale University) and married
James Rendle.
They spent their first five years of marriage in Wheaton, Illinois and Dallas, Texas where
Jim was studying.
Anna was a homemaker while they raised t heir children, and later went to work in retail where she enjoyed her co-workers and customers as a bridal consultant at Braemar in Mississauga and a sales associate at R.G. Mitchelll Family Bookstore in North York. Always a craftsperson, following her retirement, Anna enjoyed doing many crafts including bunka embroidery and designing greeting cards.
Anna will be deeply missed by her husband of 71 years, Rev. James Rendle who she supported in ministry at six Fellowship Baptist churches in Ontario: Alton Baptist, Alton, Glencairn Baptist, London, Campbell Baptist, Windsor, Bradford Baptist, Bradford, City Centre Baptist, Mississauga, and Westney Heights Baptist, Ajax. Anna started the church library at Westney Heights and it is named in her honour.
She is survived by her children, Don (Kim) Rendle of Innisfil, Hugh (Bev) Rendle of Ajax, Cheryl Rendle of Oshawa; grandchildren, Carolyn (Allen) Dickson, Jason Rendle, Nicholas (Cecelia) Rendle, and Joanna (Mike) Rendle of Killarney, and six great-grandchildren: Madison, Brandon, Emily, Emma, Charles, and Leon.
Anna was predeceased by her parents, James & Grace (Bond) Bastin, and brothers,
James Bastin & Ted Bastin.
Also left to remember her is her sister-in-law, Thelma Bastin, brother-in-law, Rev.
Gordon Rendle, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may pay their respects to the family at Westney Heights Baptist Church, 1201 Ravenscroft Rd. Ajax on Friday, August 23 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, August 24 from 10:00a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
