RENWICK, Douglas Dean -
September 29, 1943 - June 3, 2024
Dean was born at Toronto's Grace Hospital on September 29, 1943, as the only child of Douglas H. Renwick (1985) and Dorothy E. Renwick (nee Edwards) (1978).
Both parents were avid licensed private pilots flying out of Buttonville Airport at the time of their deaths.
Dean attended Northview Heights Collegiate Institute from its opening year in 1958 to 1962.
After graduation, he joined the Great American Insurance Co. and was employed in the Toronto insurance industry until 1980. Immediately after his general insurance career, he founded Antique & Classic Auto Appraisal Service.
In 1996, he founded the Professional Association of Vehicle Evaluators Inc. (P.A.V.E) as a consumer protection initiative. At the time of his death, he was the President and CEO of both successful organizations.
As per Dean's wishes, cremation has taken place with arrangements to follow at a later date. As Dean was always known to have a couple of dog biscuits in his pocket when greeting appraisal clients and their furry pets, expressions of remembrance may be made with a donation to a humane society or animal rescue shelter of your choice.
