Jerome Joseph Robbins ("Jerry")
April 4, 1941 - November 24, 2024
It is with much sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jerry Robbins on November 24, 2024, at the age of 83. Jerry was the much-loved husband, best friend, and partner of Violet (Weloski) for 44 beautiful years. He is survived by his sons Jerome (Danielle), Mark, and Frank (Denise), seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and four sisters.
Known for his huge personality and even bigger heart, Jerry was always ready to help wherever needed. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A passionate hockey fan, Jerry spent many years refereeing minor hockey and men's recreational leagues. He loved hopping on his Gold Wing motorcycle to tour the countryside or simply cruise around town. Among his favorite memories were yearly trips exploring new places, including Croatia, Switzerland, Portugal, and the deeply moving experience at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.
Jerry was an avid music lover and a fantastic dancing partner, whether waltzing in the kitchen or dazzling with his jive and boot-scootin' boogie. He enjoyed competitive games of cards, chess, or cribbage but found his greatest joy outdoors. Jerry loved golfing, walking the beach, biking trails, and tending to his hobby rescue farm. He shared a deep bond with his "sweet pea" and his beloved four-legged rescue family, now reunited with Alice, Polar, Gilmore, Budi, and Lucky.
Honoring Jerry’s wishes, there will be no formal service. Arrangements are entrusted to Newcastle Funeral Home.
To honor Jerry’s memory, donations may be made to Baladi & Sled Dog Rescue, Happy’s Place Dog Rescue, or Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary. Jerry would also encourage kindness to nature and all of its creatures.
"Lug, you will be missed forever."
