GREEN, Robert Earl  - 1928 - 2017

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at home on Tuesday, January 10, 2017.

Bob was a Volkswagen Audi dealer in the Toronto area for many years and served as President and also as Director of the Toronto Automobile Dealers Association.

A devoted family man, he spent winters vacationing with his wife, children and grandchildren in Longboat Key, Florida and summers at the family cottage on Clear Lake.

We are very grateful for the compassionate care Bob received at home during his lengthy illness from Gigi, Melissa, Loila, Pol, Dhong and particularly Charina who brought his caregiving team together. Bob's wonderful doctors at St. Joseph's Health Centre, Dr. David Tal, Dr. Lukasz Drzymala and Dr. Martin Chepesiuk all went out of their way to make things run as smoothly as possible. A special thank you to Dr. Mavrogiannis and the exceptional people at the Dorothy Ley Hospice who made it possible for us to keep him at home and pain free to the end.

Bob leaves behind his wife of 61 years Patricia (nee Hamilton), his four children David (Nancy), Leslie Primeau, Andrea Southward (Ken) and Heather Green (Heather) and seven grandchildren Karen Steadman (Phil), Emily Comegna (Anthony), William Green (Joy), Sarah Primeau, Heather Green, Robert Southward and Jonathan Southward. He also leaves five great-grandchildren who were the delight of his life, Mia Comegna, Joseph Comegna, Haley Southward, Sophie Steadman and Grace Southward. He is survived by his sister Elizabeth Diffenderffer and predeceased by his siblings Elaine Evans, William Green and Jean Ann Ashton.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a Celebration of Life on Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Lambton Golf & Country Club, 100 Scarlett Road, Toronto, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Dorothy Ley Hospice.
