ADDORISIO, Rocco - Rocco Addorisio suddenly and quietly passed away on December 16, 2020 at the age of 80 years old in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada, after a long, fruitful and labourious life.
He leaves behind his loving wife Rocca, eldest son Frank, middle daughter Antonella and youngest daughter Josie, and many other close family members and friends, who will all miss him dearly and terribly.
Born April 1, 1940 in Monteleone Di Puglia, Italy, he left home in September 1959 at the age of 19 to find a new life in Toronto, Ontario, a young man with a strong work ethic, a healthy appetite for food, and a love of cars.
He spoke fondly of working at the old Watts Restaurant in the then newly built Eglinton Square, proudly of having helped built parts of Toronto's roadways when working construction, and of working over 25 years with Centennial College as part of their operations staff.
He also had a deep and abiding love of growing and tending to a large and fruitful garden of fruit trees and vegetables of all kinds, as well as all beautiful things in nature, and of animals which there were many of around his home, both wild and domestic. He was also a musician, loved reading real estate news, and was a fan of particular television shows such as Bonanza, Little House On The Prairie and The Waltons.
A dutiful Roman Catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Lawrence The Martyr Church in Scarborough for most of its history, where a stained glass window bears our family name. He worked hard, helped others and always took care of his own.
May his Maker grant him eternal rest and peace, as he now journeys home towards all of those he loves in the hereafter.
Arrangements entrusted with Paul O'Connor funeral home, Scarborough.
