NUZIATO, Rosaria (nee Franco) - (June 1, 1938 - August 29, 2017) - It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Rosaria Nuziato (nee Franco) announces her passing at the age of 79, after a very lengthy and courageous battle with cancer.
She is now reunited with her husband Antonio Nuziato (2011) and her beloved son Vittorio (1997). Loving mother of Vittoria (Paul) Hanson, Peppino, Agostino (Nancy), Antonio Jr. (Rose) and Carmela (Paul) Oliverio.
Adored and cherished nanna of Christy and Michael Hanson, Jordan, Simona and Luca Nuziato, Joshua, Jamie and Jenna Nuziato, and Rita, Alessandro and Giulia Oliverio.
She was predeceased by her parents Giuseppe and Carmela Franco, her father and mother-in-law Peppino and Vittoria Nuziato, her brothers Agostino Franco from Australia, and Francesco Franco of Welland, and by her sister Teresa Raso and brother-in-law Gennaro Raso of Montreal. Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Caterina (Fred) Willis and her brother-in-law Vittorio Nuziato.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law Vincenza Franco from Australia, Rosa Franco from Welland, Rosa (late Vittorio) Romano of Italy, Iolanda (Pasquale) Gaetano, Elena (Carlo) Nero, and Franca (Salvatore) Davoli of Welland. She will be greatly missed by her many nephews, nieces and friends.
Friends and family will be received at J.J. Patterson & Sons funeral home, 19 Young Street, Welland on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 2 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Parish Community of St. Kevin, 303 Niagara Street, Welland, on Saturday at 10 o'clock. Rite of Committal will follow at in Pleasantview Mausoleum.
If desired, memorial donations in Rosaria’s name may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.
