OSBORNE, Sandra Mary Osborne  -   Sandy to those who knew her best, passed away suddenly on December 20, 2023, at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Kathleen and Percy Hopkins and her brother Ray.

She is survived by her loving children Kym Meisner (Ray) and David Osborne (Amy Walburn) and four granddaughters -Alexandra and Taylor Meisner, and Parker and Hollan Osborne who learned so much from her and will miss her dearly.

She was a graduate of O’Neill Collegiate in Oshawa, and after a year at Durham Business College, she traveled Canada with one of her lifelong friends, Joan Hill.

She went on to hold jobs at Bell Canada, Cole of California, and General Motors where she worked until her eventual retirement in 2005.

Sandy made many lifelong friends throughout her career, particularly at GM. She lived 32 years in her beloved home (her little castle) and neighborhood in Courtice where she was an amazing neighbor and good friend to all.

She was an active member of Kingsview United Church and cherished the many friendships she made through the weekly services and afternoon card games.

She loved to travel, read, knit and make people laugh with her stories.

In speaking with many people after her passing, one common thread remains, “Sandy had the biggest smile and the warmest heart.”
