HOPTON, Scott  - October 19, 1964 - March 5, 2017

With deep sadness we announce that Scott passed away at the Princess Margaret Hospital palliative care unit in Toronto, where he was lovingly cared for by staff, with friends and family by his side, after a very short illness at the age of 52.

He loved music, making people laugh, cool architecture, pop culture, the natural world, artists like Roy Lichtenstein, taking pictures, building things - and the people in his life who he adored with an always generous spirit.

He is profoundly missed by his friends and family.

He is remembered with love by his sweetheart Nancy Weiss, his mother Rose Hopton, brother and sister, Sean and Alice, as well as his brother- in-law, Doug Mander, nephews Oliver and Sam Mander, father Ray Hopton and grandmother Hilda Hopton.

A memorial service and reception will be held in Scott's honour on Sunday, March 26th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Hart House, University of Toronto, 7 Hart House Circle, Debates Room, 2nd floor.
