He was predeceased by his beloved son Gordon (Rhonda), his brother John, and sister Carole Bowman.
David had a lifelong passion for sports, excelling as both a football player and a referee, officiating at all levels, including the CFL. His contributions to the sport were recognized with national awards and co-authoring the Canadian Amateur Football Rule Book. He was also an avid golfer who cherished time on the course.
Professionally, David was a printer by trade and served as the local president of the Graphic Arts International Union. Known for his fairness and formidable negotiation skills, he earned respect from both members and employers alike.
David’s larger-than-life personality, witty quips, and wry grin will be dearly missed by his family and friends. His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Viva Barrhaven Retirement Home for their kindness and support over the past six years.
A private family interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens in December, with a celebration of life to follow in 2025.
