CLARKE, Elizabeth Smith Hunter  - Our wee Mom, Elizabeth "Betty" Smith Hunter (Muirhead) Clarke, was unexpectedly taken away from us on Sunday, September 27th, 2015 while out doing one of her favourite activities, enjoying a beautiful, sunny fall day.

Betty was born on January 14th, 1926 in Ayr, Scotland.

After graduating as a midwife from nursing college in Glasgow she boarded a ship headed for Canada where she met her future husband, John William "Bill" Clarke.

Betty and Bill settled in Orillia and were married for 51 years. She worked on the maternity ward at Soldiers Memorial Hospital as a nurse from 1958 to 1984.

Elizabeth will be greatly missed by her three daughters Heather Clarke, Sheila (Chris) Denis, Karen Clarke and her four granddaughters Ashley, Carmen, Allyson and Yinimi.

Although our hearts are heavy with loss, we are comforted knowing that our cute little mother is already chatting with and making new friends on her final journey.

Service will be held at a later date.

The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men Gang aft agley, An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain, For promis'd joy! Robert Burns Goodbye Dearie. We love you Mom.
