Eric Sjöblom

June 11, 1984 - March 7, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic passing of Eric Sjöblom on Friday, March 7, 2025. Loving husband of Samantha (née Riddell) and devoted father to Ellie (4) and Clark (1.5). Eric is loved and remembered by his mother Brigitte (Brian), father Ted, and stepfather Jim.

Eric was cherished beyond measure by his dearly departed grandparents, Oma & Opa and Papa Sam & Grandma Kaarina. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings and their partners: Josh (Krysia), Zach (Katie), Rebecca, Marina (Ben), and Shania.

His loss is profoundly felt by his extended family, including his parents-in-law, Robin & Gary and Jamie & Julie, as well as his sisters-in-law, Emma (Kyle), Elayna, and Jayme. Eric will also be fondly remembered by his many cousins, dear friends, and co-workers.

And of course, his beloved dogs. While Zebby will be missing playtime with dad, the recently departed Bentley is no doubt overjoyed to be reunited with Eric for long walks in the forest.

Eric was a proud and well-respected tradesman, a loyal friend, a devoted family man, and a kind soul. He loved Lego, Star Wars, and the outdoors. With an adventurous spirit, he found joy in spending time with friends and family. Above all, his greatest happiness came from being a loving husband to Sam and a dedicated father to Ellie and Clark.

All are welcome to join us for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the York Region Police Association Building, 63 Eric T. Smith Way, Aurora.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Project Confetti would be greatly appreciated. Project Confetti is a community-based initiative that provides unique gift boxes to bring joy to children staying at the Children’s Health Unit at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
