Gary Skilton
January 23, 1941 – February 16, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Gary Skilton on Saturday, February 16, 2025, at Markham-Stouffville Hospital at the age of 84.
Predeceased by his parents, Walter and Beatrice, Gary will be deeply missed by his loving spouse of 35 years, Marjorie “Marge” Sanger, and his five children: Allen, Robert (Katherine), Yvonne, Mathias (Bonnie), and Thomas. Cherished grandfather to Randy, Devon, James, Jessica, Bailey, Hannah, and Bazzil.
Also remembered by his siblings Gerry (Heather), Ron (Pat), Rick (Mabel), and Brian. Predeceased by his brother Leo and sister Margaret.
Gary was also loved by Marge’s children, Sherri (Trent) and Jackie, and their children: Ryan, Adam, Brittany, Matthew, Bradley, John, Jennifer, Amanda, Rebecca, and Darryl.
Coming from a large family, Gary always dreamed of having one of his own. His greatest joy in life was his five children. A skilled boiler maker, he became an exceptional boiler technician and was known for his ability to fix anything—a true-life MacGyver armed with a screwdriver and a glass of beer. He enjoyed spending time with his children, playing golf, and in recent years, putting puzzles together.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
