Myrna "Mickey" Jean Smith

February 14, 1932 - November 30, 2024

With love and cherished memories, the family of Myrna “Mickey” Jean Smith announces her peaceful passing on November 30, 2024, at the kind and caring Lambton Meadowview Villa in Petrolia, Ontario. Born on Valentine’s Day in 1932 to Lucinda and John MacDonald in Sarnia, Mickey lived a life filled with love, family, and generosity.

Mickey was the loving mother of Laurie MacLean and Marla Veenstra (MacLean) and a devoted grandmother to Matthew and Joel Veenstra. She was fondly known as Grandma "Mick" to Charlene "Charlie" Mehlenbacher and was a dear aunt to several nieces and nephews. Mickey was predeceased by her second husband, Robert "Bob" Smith (1999), her parents, all eleven of her siblings, son-in-law Jim Veenstra (2017), and several nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside interment will be held at the Dresden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one’s choice in Mickey’s memory.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Badder Funeral Home, Dresden.
