SNYDER, Brian Snyder -  It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian Arthur Snyder of Woodville, Ontario, in his 81st year after a short battle with cancer.

Brian passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2024 with his loving wife; Julie by his side.

Brian was born in St. Catharines, Ontario where he developed his love of sports and passion for hockey on the backyard rink.

A playmaker extraordinaire with the St. Catharines Junior B’s and later the local industrial league scoring leader. Survived by Julie, his wife of 31 years.

Predeceased by beloved son Scott. Survived by daughter Melissa, brother Wayne (Natalie), brother- in- law Scott Hudson, sister-in-law Karey Anne McClelland (Steve), brother-in-law Paul Brignall, and daughter-in-law Stacey Wainman (Scott Heelis).

Proudest achievement being Papa to his all-girls team Kayleigh Snyder, Mackinley Price, Amber Snyder, and Olivia Price. A special uncle to Ryan, Kyle, Michael, Cara, D.J, Krista and Will.

And great uncle to Noah, Ella, Emma, Bryce, Maddy, Lily and Sophie. A Certified Professional Accountant, Brian enjoyed a long successful career in the automotive dealership industry beginning with Bird Chev Olds in Welland, Ontario and then Ontario Motor Sales (OMS) in Oshawa.

Over an almost 40-year relationship with OMS, Brian left a legacy of mentorship, leadership and friendship with so many that he considered them his second family. Brian was an avid hockey fan and continued to play regularly into his early 70’s. Besides hockey his greatest pleasures were doting on his grandchildren and tending to his “gentlemen’s” farm and its long tree lined driveway.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held in Port Perry, Ontario at the Low and Low Funeral Chapel, on Saturday July 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following. The family looks forward to a gathering of friends for a luncheon and refreshments to share some memories and raise a glass to a special man.

In lieu of flowers, donations made in Brian’s name to the Oak Ridges Hospice of Durham, 1722 Scugog Street, Port Perry, Ontario, L9L 1E2 would be sincerely appreciated
