Passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on December 27, 2024, with her family by her side at St. Michael’s Hospital, Toronto.

Adored mother of Oksana (Paul) and Roman (Yana). Proud babuchka of Andrew, Sofia, Anastasiia, and Nikol. Great babuchka of Mishel and Misha. Dear sister of Vera, Aleksandra, and Ludmila. Predeceased by her husband, Evgniy, 22 years ago in Ukraine. Lovingly remembered by many family and friends in Canada and Ukraine.

Valentyna had a tremendously outgoing personality and made friends everywhere. She retired from Barnaby’s Family Restaurant after 17 years and was affectionately known there as Mama. She loved to feed people, ensuring you never left her home hungry. Valentyna embraced life, enjoying travel with her family on many adventures. She cherished her time with her grandson Andrew, particularly their car rides. She also loved riding on the ATV, caring for her chickens, gardening, and of course, cooking.

Sincere and special thanks to Peterborough Regional Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospitals for their outstanding care, compassion, and tremendous support.

Visitation will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East, Oshawa, on Monday, January 6th, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Panachyda will be held at 7:30 pm in the Chapel.

A Funeral Service will take place in the Armstrong Chapel on Tuesday, January 7th, at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery in Courtice, Ontario.

Donations in memory of Valentyna to the Peterborough Regional Health Centre Foundation or Unity Health Toronto would be appreciated by the family.
